Happy are those who delight in the Lord. On God's law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

These words from Psalm 1 are a metaphor for Webster Presbyterian Church. Surely we are nourished by the deep rivers of God. Surely we are sustained by the light of Christ. Surely we are refreshed by the winds of the Holy Spirit. It is our joy and our responsibility to tend to the tree that grows in this place and to help it bear ripe fruit for harvest.

The branches of worship form the center of our life as a church. The branches of nurture are necessary to help us grow in the life of faith in order to assume roles of leadership in the church and community. The branches of caregiving represent our primary task of making the love of God tangible within our church and to our community.

Our root system must be strong to support our ministry. In order to carry out our mission, we must have adequate space and facilities, well-balanced program resources, solid financial support, and be well organized. We must have spiritual maturity to discern and empower our ministry.

The Session provides the leadership for the church, keeping the vision of the church in mind at all times and helping members of the congregation to discover their own gifts and to use them in meaningful ways.

The work of care giving within the congregation is lead by our Board of Deacons. The Board of Trustees work to keep us solidly grounded within the resources we have been given.

The Session, the Deacons, the Trustees, the staff, and the congregation together help Webster Presbyterian become the strong, faithful, fruit-bearing tree that God intends to grow in this place.
